Doghouse Pianos was established in 2001 by Jim and Amy Tiernan. We are 1999 graduates of the Basic and Advanced Piano Technology programs at Boston’s North Bennet Street School. Since our days as students at NBSS we have been active members of the Piano Technicians Guild and have both passed a series of exams to achieve Registered Piano Technician (RPT) status. Actively participating in state, regional, and national conferences through PTG has been an integral part of our craft.
We have built our business one client, one piano at a time. Relationships that develop with our customers is valuable and we are grateful for the opportunity that each appointment presents. TUNING / REPAIR
As part of every appointment, we will inspect your piano and discuss any concerns you have or issues we find.

Tuning and pitch correction

Repair- sticky keys, buzzes and squeaks, broken strings, etc.

Action regulation and voicing- adjustment and refining of tone and touch.

Humidity Control Systems- protect your instrument from the harmful effects of temperature and humidity changes.

Consultation on purchasing and selling- have a piano inspected before buying (even the free ones!!)

Half-day and Full-day service packages available- give your piano a little extra TLC with cleaning, touch-up regulation and tuning.
RESTORATION
We specialize in the comprehensive restoration of fine grand and upright pianos, as well as the sentimental family heirloom piano. We use only the finest replacement parts available for each restoration. We can also accommodate any requests for specific products or brands upon consultation.
